Lily Cheng

Lily is the founder of boutique AI research and education think tank, Hubel Labs, was the former President of TripAdvisor Asia Pacific and now serves as an independent Non-Executive Director of a portfolio of leading companies across aviation, luxury retail, datacenter, legal professional services, traveltech and fintech. 

Public directorships include:

• Cathay Pacific Limited (HKSE: 0293) - Independent Non-executive Director, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, Member of the Audit Committee and member of the Board Safety Review Committee.
• Chow Tai Fook Jewelry Limited (HKSE: 1929) - Independent Non-executive Director, Nomination Committee Member, Sustainability Committee Member.
• Sunevision Limited (HKSE: 1686) - Independent Non-executive Director.

In addition to public directorships, Lily is also an independent board director of a HKMA-regulated fintech and digital payment operator, Octopus Cards, a board member and advisor to private-equity backed European traveltech business, HBX Group as well as an external Global Council member of elite international law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP.

Between 2017 and 2024, Lily was an Independent Non-Executive Director of listed real-estate company Swire Properties Limited (HKSE:   1972) and served on its Audit Committee and Digital Steering Committee.

Prior to 2016, Lily was the President of Asia Pacific at TripAdvisor and held various senior executive roles at Expedia spanning across Beijing, Singapore, London and Hong Kong.  Between 2019 and 2022, Lily was an Advisor to the Office of the President of Mars Inc, with a focus on Mars’ global portfolio of petcare businesses as well as China portfolio and investments.

Lily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, a Master of Engineering degree with distinction from the University of Cambridge and holds a graduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University.  She was named Leading Woman Director or Executive at the 19th Women of Influence Awards by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2023.
